About Me

Biography

I am an artist living and working in Dundee, Scotland.

Following a long career in the public sector I took advantage of early retirement to pursue my passion for making art. After completing an HND in Art and Design at Fife College, I moved to study Fine Art at DJCAD, Dundee, where my focus was painting and sculpture.

I graduated in 2020 with a First Class BA (Hons).

Artist Statement

I am primarily a painter of Scottish coastal scenery with a keen interest in environmental issues affecting our native coastline and seas.

My abstract work describes the tension that exists between humans and the environment, in particular, current issues around climate change and plastic pollution.

Often incorporating recycled plastics, my work represents a further intervention in the lifetime of those found materials giving them new meaning and context, requiring that the viewer engages with them, with their history and their altered form.
